The Saguache Recreation Board, in cooperation with the Saguache County Health Department is spon- soring an exercise program - Old Ladies Exercise (OLE!) every Monday and Wednesday at 4:30 to 5:30 and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30. ia the school weight room. Access the weight room from the south side of the building (across from the Community Gar- den). The OLE! ,program involves strength training exercises using free weights and supplemental exercises. Participants determine how much weight to train with and increase the weights as they feel ready. There are also floor and balance exercises to help strengthen your core and help you prevent falls. You are not required to do any more than you care to do. Bring ankle weights (ff you have them) and a towel or mat for floor work. All other weights are provided. Strength training and proper nu- trition improve the health of wo- men of all ages. Strength and bal- ance are critical factors in living healthier, more active lives. Re- search shows that a program of strength training not only impro- ves bone density, but reduces falls improves arthritis symptoms and increases flexibility and strength. The OLE! program is appropriate for both sedentary and very ac- tive women. Women of all ages are invited to attend. You don't have to be an Old Lady to join us.
